About Photo LITES

WE think this is interesting and relevant in selecting your photographer.

Everything in Leif and Dottie’s past says “we CARE about people and understand the meaning of the word SERVICE”. We work as a team to produce both a great photographic experience and quality images for your memories.

We moved to the Northwest 15 years ago from Rochester, NY. We both came from service-oriented jobs, Leif with Eastman Kodak Co., and Dottie with the University Of Rochester School Of Medicine.

Dottie volunteered both as an ambulance provider and an instructor for EMTs and Paramedics. After moving to Prosser, she worked for the American Cancer Society. She now serves as a Commissioner for Prosser Memorial Hospital.

We are active church members and continue to volunteer within the community.

Leif has held a life-long passion for photography, developing his first roll of film at camp when he was seven. His first entrepreneurial venture was in grade-school when he took pictures of his friends and sold them to their parents.

After high school, the U. S. Navy trained him as both a photographer and camera repairman. He served on an aircraft carrier and in navy photo intelligence.

Then it was onto the University of Texas and a degree in Business Administration. He paid his way through school by working in a camera store and as a photographer for fraternity and sorority parties.

Next came the dream job with Eastman Kodak. First, he was a technical service rep calling on professional photographers and finishing labs. Then his love of teaching brought him to Kodak’s Marketing Education Center where he taught photography and the use of Kodak products. He also managed to teach photography at a local Junior College and to photograph weddings for a large studio.

Finally, there was the big move to Prosser, WA, and the photo lab at Hanford. In 1995, during a reduction of thousands of employees, he chose to leave and fulfill his life-long dream of opening his own photo studio, Photo LITES. The rest – as they say – is history!
